Red Cross Mobile Apps

Wednesday, September 26, 2012
The American Red Cross has recently introduced some mobile apps to help the public prepare for emergencies.  They brought out a Hurricane app a few months ago as hurricane season started, and I was a little bummed that it wasn't more broad to cover other potential hazards or areas.  But now they have brought out the Earthquake app, which is EXACTLY what we need in our area here in Utah!

The apps are free and contain lists, instructions, quizes and other useful information on preparing for earthquakes or hurricanes, including an up-to-date map of any/all open Red Cross shelters in the event of an evacuation.

From the Red Cross web site:

The official American Red Cross First Aid app puts expert advice for everyday emergencies in your hand. Available for iPhone and Android devices, the official American Red Cross First Aid app offers videos, interactive quizzes and simple step-by-step advice it’s never been easier

to know first aid.

Be ready for an earthquake with Earthquake by American Red Cross. Get notified when an earthquake occurs, prepare your family and home, find help and let others know you are safe even if the power is out – a must have for anyone who lives in an earthquake-prone area or has loved ones who do.
