Ham in the Sun Oven

Wednesday, July 4, 2012
Used my sun oven yesterday to warm up a ham - it was great!  Normally it is 275F for 3 hours in the oven, and that kicks out a LOT of heat to my main floor, which is already battling the heat with all of the windows facing due south and getting sun light all day long.  So being able to stick the ham in the sun oven outside was FABULOUS!  No fuel needed, and didn't heat up the inside of my house.

What was not so fabulous, is that I got incredibly sick after eating the ham...apparently there is a dairy-like substance in the ham or the glaze that I am very, very allergic to and didn't know.  *sigh* Food allergies can be really tricky at times...
