I had a good time at Smith's on Wednesday - they had everything in stock that I needed for this big sale. Things were a little hectic at store itself, but let me tell you, I had one of the very best checkers EVER! On these bigger sales, I sometimes drive up to my "old" Smith's in Murray because it is much less busy (and there are less couponers) than the Smith's here in Herriman (which is the only grocery store in town, so you can imagine how busy it gets). I had to grab some things at Sunflower Market as well, so I was headed north anyway. It was SO worth it to come to the other Smith's store - the checker and store director were both so incredibly helpful!
The current promo for this week is "Add Up the Savings!" - buy 8 participating products and get $4 off instantly. And some of the participating items also had Catalina promotions running at the same time, so it is making for some good deals!
Because of the Catalina promos, I had to split my transactions into several groups. I was able to do the smaller groupings two at a time at the self-checkout, and then I went to my car to drop off the bags and then came in for more.

Transaction 1:
(5) Betty Crocker fruit snacks, on sale 1.99 (1.49 after promo, 1.24 after coupon)
(3) SunnyD, on sale 1.28 (.78 after promo, .53 after coupon)
I used (2) .50/2 printable coupons for the fruit snacks [see GroupA or GroupB], and (3) .25/1 coupons for the SunnyD [see SS-8/8].
Total:
$7.45 + received a $3 Catalina coupon good off next purchase

Transaction 2:
(8) Progresso soup, on sale 1.50 (1.00 after promo, .75 after coupon)
(1) gallon whole milk, on sale 1.79
I used (4) .50/2 coupons for the soup [see GeneralMills-8/8]. I also used the $3 Catalina coupon from the previous transaction.
Total:
$5.20 There was an advertisement for a Catalina promo involving the Progresso soup, that should have given me a $3 Catalina coupon, but no Cat printed. I asked the store and they were unaware of the promo, but the checker said she would just let me use the previous $3 Catalina again. We thought at the time that it was one particular type of soup that was not triggering the Cat to print. (I have since called Catalina Marketing and they said that the promo was not set to run in Utah - bummer!) Because we didn't know why the Cat wasn't printing, I went ahead and tried a second set of 8 in a separate transaction.

Transaction 3:
(8) Progresso soup, on sale 1.50 (1.00 after promo, .75 after coupon)
I used (4) .50/2 coupons for the soup [see GeneralMills-8/8] and the $3 Catalina that I had been expecting from the previous soup group
Total:
$3.36Again, no Catalina printed. We talked with the store director and he said he hadn't gotten any shelf tags for the promo and wasn't sure why the Catalina coupon wasn't printing. They offered to call corporate to find out (see how nice they were) but I told them not to worry about it and that I would just call Catalina directly when I got home.

Transaction 4:
(4) Betty Crocker fruit snacks, on sale 1.99 (1.49 after promo, 1.24 after coupon)
(2) Yoplait YoPlus yogurt, on sale 2.29 (1.79 after promo, 1.29 after coupon)
(2) Gardettos snacks, on sale 1.99 (1.49 after promo, .99 after coupon)
I used (2) .50/2 coupons for the fruit snacks [see GeneralMills-8/8], (1) .55/1 peelie coupon for the yogurt (from the package), (1) .50/1 coupon for the yogurt [see SS-7/11 or GeneralMills-8/8] and (2) .50/1 printable coupons for the Gardettos [see GroupA]. There were also (2) .50 off Cellfire e-coupons that came off my order as well.
Total:
$8.97 + got $2 Catalin coupon good off next purchase

Transaction 5:
(8) GM Trix cereal, on sale 1.98 (1.48 after promo, .98 after coupon)
(2) GM Cocoa Puffs cereal, on sale 1.98 (1.48 after promo, .93 after coupon)
(4) Betty Crocker fruit snacks, on sale 1.99 (1.49 after promo, 1.24 after coupon)
(1) Tropicana orange juice, clearanced to .99
(2) FiberOne yogurts, on sale 2.29 (1.79 after promo, 1.29 after coupon)
(6) Danimals Crush Cups yogurt, clearanced to .75
(8) Danimals Coolision yogurt, clearanced to .75
(2) Disney character spoon/fork set, clearanced to 3.00
(1) Beach umbrella, clearanced to 4.49
I used (4) 1.00/2 coupons for the Trix [see GroupA or GroupB or SS-7/11], (2) .55/1 printable coupons for the Cocoa Puffs [see GroupA], (2) .50/2 coupons for the fruit snacks [see GroupA or GeneralMills-8/8], and (2) .50/1 coupons for the Yoplait yogurt [see SS-7/11 or GeneralMills-8/8]. I also got (2) 1.00/1 ecoupons off my order from Cellfire and Shortcuts for the yogurt. I then used a $5 Catalina coupon that I got from the Kraft dairy promo a week or so ago and my $6 Smith's Rewards coupon I got in the mail this week.
I could have gotten 4 of the Danimals yogurt for free, but I didn't have all of my coupons with me (there is a 1.00/1 coupon in the SS-7/18), plus I wasn't expecting to find the yogurt marked down! [If you're headed to the Smith's on 54th South, check the yogurt case because some of the Crush Cups were still marked down but sitting with the regular yogurts - expiration date Aug 14 - and you can get around the expiration date by freezing them - my kids love frozen GoGurts and the Coolision is just the Dannon version of the same thing basically.]
Total:
$27.60 + got $2 Catalina coupon
My overall total for Smith's for the day:
$52.58
